Twenty eight years ago, there was a war.
The harbor town of Barber was small and to get protection for pirates and other groups of people bent on invasion and conquest, they had aligned themselves with the larger, settled country known as Raline. When Raline went to war, it called upon the harbor town of Barber to supply men and supplies, which it did to its utmost ability. When Raline lost the war, all the men of Barber that had gone to fight never returned home.
With so many widows, the town was renamed the Widow's Spoon and many orphaned children were left to fight for themselves or be raised in large families by stressed and overworked widows who tried their best to support them. The town fell into a predictable recession.
Two decades pass and two brother, identical twins, come to power. With harsh methods and unrelenting means, they began taking over parts of the city and turning it into something which served their own purposes. Their organization hummed with prosperity built on blood. It was known as the Hive.
The people of the town resent what the city is being turned into. The Brothers are on the precipice of forming an alliance with another greedy organization and after that, many feel that their thirst for power will never be quenched. Is the town doomed to be a launching point for the infestation of greed that it birthed?
