Often, a label does not do a memorable event justice. Once an emotion is labeled or referred to as "love" the interpretation of the reader limits the span of the word.
Describe the feelings of your character in a memorable moment without naming the feeling. If your character is in love, does the interpretation of their love become more complex or simple without the label? Do other readers agree that they are content, melancholy or desperate?
The moment your character is experiencing can be an old one or current one. Make a writer's note at the bottom of your post if you wish to clarify or add anything for the reader's benefit at the bottom.
Enjoy.

So torn and afraid, laying between two lovers. One tall and strong, proud and dangerous. The other small and shy, sweet and caring. What he feels for them both often has the same name, but he feels so differently towards each of them. One ravages him and then makes him feel protected against the world. The other he feels like he's the protector, the provider. Thrilled beyond words with the one, happy and content with the other. One is like a roller coaster, the other offers the comforts of a true home. So hard to choose. Wanting both is acceptable to them; but it will not do. His conscience, his mind, his upbringing screams to him that it is wrong. Thou shalt not covet. Anguish and torment fill his soul. Neither of his lovers understand, they're happy when all three are together. But when alone with one or the other, his soul sings and he feels as if he could burst into a billion rays of light and scatter their brilliance across the universe.
