(( rp scene from Morze coasts, 4/22/2019, thanks for the play!))
That evening William had finished his works with the ledger and was uncharacteristically without it. It was too warm for a jacket and he wore, instead, a black turtleneck and green trousers. There were so many different little nooks and seating areas. He had tucked himself away in one with a couch, sipping his red drink from a coffee mug. At times, it helps to make more familiar social gestures. Coffee mugs were one of them.
Tana pulled on the door and wandered inside, after a few moments to take in the lovely scent of coffee, her amethyst eyes swept to the right and then to the left, making a move towards the books to see if there was one she would find interesting.
There were a few others lingering over the books. These days it took many lifetimes to read them all. Some endeavored to do just that. William looked as if he preferred the atmosphere there more, something about it being more intellectual.
His dark eyes moved up, observing her briefly. Smiling seemed to be somewhat painful for him to do, but he did it anyway.
"Something I can get you?" The woman behind the counter said to (Tana), as friendly as possible. She added, "Is this your first time here? You can read whatever you want as long as you want, so long as you order a drink. Everything is also for sale but, you know, they're all used books."
She smiled "Used books are the best, they come with interesting energy. Yes it is my first time thank you for the explanation " she'd move towards the woman behind the counter "Do you make Cafezinho here?"
Twice in a month - it was nearly a record. At least since she'd been on her own. Today, the white streaks were braided back into jet black, a few strands left to loosely frame her face. Black leggings ended in sneakers, and she wore a black and white windbreaker, lycra just peeking out of the zipper. Not quite as dangerous looking, but clearly on a mission. Nodding to the woman at the counter with a bright, secret joke of a smile, Kenzie turned her steps away from the counter, and toward the man and his book.
"Not familiar with it but if you tell me how," she flipped a cup and then smiled, holding it up empty, "I think I can."
Not that far behind Kenzie would be Zack. Dressed from top to bottom in all black clothing. Though if or where he had things hidden on his person was hard to tell. Not that he really needed to do so, seeing that he was a rather tall built male. Looking over the books in passing as he was now a step or two behind the woman in front of him.
He looked up from what he was reading when he felt the heartbeat of her nearness. His eyebrows rose slightly as if privately surprised she have come upon him in their off-hours. There was a shadow to her, though, a man who he had to quickly presume was a stalker or a lover. The line there was thin.
Zack was too good at shadowing to be that close for anything but on purpose. She hadn't planned on having company, but - well, it was hard to plan around a dragon. Tugging at her braid, she came to a stop in front of his table, bottom lip caught between her teeth. "He insisted..." She was still holding her braid.
"I suppose what he wants is the important thing." He gentle closed the book and then neatly set it off to the side. William's dark skin accented any color that wasn't. He was subdued looking in the black turtle neck, his attention but not all together appreciative of the dragon.
Coming to a stop behind Kenzie, before crossing his arms. Not a word came from him as he slowly scanned just about every inch of the Vault. Taking note of where things were as well as where any possible people could be at. Mostly out of habit, before looking towards William. Matching the look given with one of his own. Two men just staring at the other. "Evening."
"Well this is awkward as hell. Babe...I...I'm getting a drink, I'll grab you coffee. William you want your usual?" She was wavering, but mostly covered the flinch. She'd tried to explain he didn't like impromptu meetings, to no avail. Barely waiting - since she could hear them from anywhere, she headed over to the counter, and the other patron, at a decent clip.
William's eyes, the blame, stayed on her long enough that she knew he rested the fault of the moment on her. Moments afterward he looked at the dragon and then shifted, picking up his cup of red for a sip.
"From what I understand," he said, setting down his coffee, "Your intentions with Kenzie are fairly substantial."
"Was going to happen sooner or later." Murmured back to Kenzie as his hands moved to give her shoulders a brief squeeze. He caught the wavering and flinching. "Coffee sounds nice." Watching her before looking back to William. This was going to be interesting. "They are. My intentions with her are honest and I mean her no harm."
Oh, she knew. She knew. And there would be consequences, of that she was certain. The squeeze helped but... "Can I have what he's having, and a regular coffee, black, please?" She'd sneak a sniff or two, but when in Rome. Waiting, she nodded and briefly smiled at the other woman by the counter.
"I don't.... really care who she dates. It's not my business. This," the implied motion between them before he eased back, "Is not my business. I don't intend to care until there is an engagement. I don't ask her to meet my girlfriends. This whole thing," a motion between them, "Feels a bit rude and insincere."
After a few moments of looking at the books she took out a book and moved back to retrieve her coffee once finished. She'd make her way to a comfy chair setting her coffee to one side and curling up in said chair would crack open her book and silently start to read.
"Hmm." Head slightly tilted to one side as he listened to William giving his honest opinion on the matter. "I can respect that." Nodding lightly as he glanced over his shoulder for a moment to Kenzie then back to the male. "As for an engagement? That is always possible." Light shrug as it was clear that he wasn't against it. "There was no intentions of either of us being rude."
Everyone was still, for lack of a better term, alive, as she headed back to the table, setting another cup in front of William before handing Zack his coffee...and possibly hovering for a moment to breathe it in. She had her own - a to go cup, but there was a more coppery scent escaping from the lid. "Everyone getting along? Great."
"Thank you, Kenzie." Leaning down to kiss her cheek as he took the coffee from her. Pausing to let her inhale the scent, before lifting it up for a sip. All the while keeping his gaze on William. "Just peachy." Even tone.
There was a nod from him and then he rose to his feet leaving behind whatever book he had indulged along with his glass, "The weather is nice, I'll be taking a walk. Everything is fine, he's not been offensive in the last ten minutes." His hands squeezed her arm, just above the elbow, as he walked past her.
"The weather is nice enough for a walk." Agreeing with the male. Even gave William a polite and friendly smile. No other readable intentions or other being shown at the moment.
"Well that's a relief..." Muttered under her breath. Affectionately of course. "At least neither of you is taking a swing. " Her head tilted, bending to the squeeze of her arm. "Of course...I apologize for the intrusion. It won't..." Oh who was she kidding, it would happen again. It was nearly assured.
Probably would happen again.
"I would rather not be ambushed. It just isn't polite." he gave her a pointed look and then, touching two fingers to his brow, he made a motion to wish the two of them goodnight. A salute from a not-soldier. He stepped aside of them, then, and out the doors of the Vault. William, apparently, had things to do.
Zack would match the two finger salute with his own. "Agreed. We'll give warning the next time. Have yourself a wonderful night." He actually meant that. "Shall we as well?" The latter to Kenzie.
"Of course." Yeah, she was in trouble. "Have a good evening." Turning back to Zack, she glared. "Oh, no. You wanted to come with me...we're here. We're finishing our drinks at least."
She looked up at the others that were about as she sipped on her coffee.
Now looking at Kenzie and that glare. Giving her his bestest smile now. "Whatever you wish, dear." He was the one in trouble now.
Oh yes, yes he was. Exponentially as much as she was...when she found out how much that was. "Sit. And don't dear me you fire-breathing force of nature..." She moved to another table, closer to the counter.
Clearing his throat as he moved to sit down, though he might have smirked to the nickname she just dropped on him. He kinda liked it.
She finished her drink and stepped out quietly leaving the book put beside the coffee on a table.
