THAT RANDO 09/17/2018
The place was in the desert, an old abandoned farm home. Dilapidated, there weren't even any vehicles lying around, except an old beaten down Chevy several hundred yards away from the building itself. No running vehicles at least. However, inside that building, behind a panel in the bathroom was a staircase that led to an underground bunker. It wasn't just for housing kidnapping victims. It was the underground home for many of the family members of Blood. Yes, leave it to some unimaginative vampire to make their last name, Blood.
It wasn't Matthias' brother's idea, no he was just part of a long line of vampires within the family to keep the system running. However, Christian, Matthias' brother, was looking for more than just blood. Not only did the poison the sugar plum's produce kill without a trace, it was a nice high for the vampires as well, at least for him and his brood.
Once you reached the bottom of the stairs, it forked, one way, the left, led to all the living quarters for the family. Living area's, spaces for bedrooms, all with wooden doors on the walls. The right prong led down another long hallway, where it would split again, but this time the hallways were much smaller than the original split.
This split, the one going right, curved around and had a huge wooden door, behind it, more stairs that curved around and led into a torture area. This is not where Cherry would be, however. The split going left this time led in another circular and had more living areas, but it was mostly bedrooms, but instead of lavish bedrooms, some of the rooms had mattresses on the floor. Some had old beds, but the one at the end, was decorated as if it was a child's bedroom, with a full sized bed and stuffed animals all over. This is where they kept Cherry, who was tied up by her hands and feet, mostly naked. She only had on her panties and bra.
Velvet, as she had come to be known - Christian's girlfriend - wanted the girl to be as vulnerable as possible and was slowly taking away all her clothing to create an image she thought would scare the girl. And it did. The girl didn't know what would happen next at any given point. So far, she'd been more scared psychologically then physically, though she did have cuts, gashes and bruises randomly dispersed over her body. Her head had a gash from when they had first taken her and she'd woken up once they were taking her down here.
Matthias was unhappy though, he wasn't allowed in her room. Blah blah blah were his thoughts about that. He thought it was unfair he wasn't allowed to give his kind of torture to the girl. Perhaps that's why he chose to give them up instead of die with the secret of where they'd taken her. -d-
The Menagerie 09/17/2018
Christian was livid, though the only outward signs were how he was leading Velvet behind him and how his face looked like it was carved from cold marble. "I expected this from Matthias, Velvet," he spoke without looking at her, and his voice was restrained. "But I didn't expect such blatant disobedience from you." Since she had so recently fed, the grip of his fist on her wrist was leaving a dark cuff bracelet of bruises around her wrist. She had the choice to either walk, stumble, or be literally dragged behind him -- Christian didn't really care which it was, she could choose to keep her dignity or not at her own discretion.
He was vain enough to have a throne-like chair in their 'family' room, and he sat down before pulling Velvet in front of him. Forcing her down onto her knees by his grip on her arm, his other hand lifted to tenderly cup her face. "You know that I can't just let that go," his voice was deceptively gentle, now, and his thumb brushed over her cheek. "Why do you make me do these things to you?" Not that Velvet knew what he would be doing to her. [d]
THAT RANDO0 9/17/2018
Velvet would walk tall behind him, thank you very much. Even when he forced her to her knees she went down as gracefully as she could, like a Queen would. That is, after all, how she saw herself. She didn't want to beg him, but he should know she should be allowed to do what she pleased as well, after all, wasn't the girl kidnapped for her? Yes, in fact, well mostly anyway, they could make a lot of money off the girl as well. With the poison and all.
When they entered inside the family room, there were a few family members who decided to stand and exit, leaving them alone. They really didn't want to be around to see what would happen, watching her be humiliated could bite them in their asses later on. It would be enough to see what he did to her after it happened. She was petty when it came to people seeing her be punished. This wouldn't be the first time, and more than likely not the last, but it wasn't usually for things like this and it was never usually as bad as this.
Her head was bowed when he cupped her face, he had to tilt it to make her look up at him and she didn't allow her demeanor to change. Stone Cold. Though when she spoke there was a touch of fear in that tone, "I am your Queen..." She reminded him. As if he cared enough to not punish her, "You don't have to, Christian" -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
The fact that the others in their nest chose to vacate the room didn't get a reaction from him one way or the other. If they had chosen to stay and watch this, that would have simply been more humiliation for Velvet to sup on; the fact that she would have taken out her anger on them later would have been a consequence of their own choice to stay. The nest was an extremely toxic one, with the more powerful vampires using the lessers as whipping boys and girls to make themselves feel better. Christian and Velvet did nothing to stop it -- in fact, they were the examples that the rest lived by -- other than to make one cardinal rule: they all stood together against outside forces, regardless of the inter-personal relationships within the nest.
"Oh, but I do, my lovely one," he leaned down and kissed her forehead in a lover's fashion, as if he did care about her discomfort and that this hurt him to do. It was all artifice. "I ask so little of you, and what you not only assisted Matthias to do, but stood by to watch..." He shook his head, and when he caught her eyes, his voice felt like a pulsing through her body when he spoke next. "But now I'm telling you, little dove, to kneel here and don't move." There was no command for her to be silent, leaving her free to scream, cry, beg, curse... whatever she wanted to do. Letting her go, he leaned over and picked up a small wooden box. Velvet would recognize it, since it was her own sewing kit. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
She didn't move, when he kissed her forehead she sighed and closed her eyes, but when she heard him moving around she looked up and over to watch him moving to pick something up. Seeing what it was her brows lifted and when he turned to face her, she was about to say something when she realized what her punishment was going to be.
She reached out and grabbed his wrist, her own still bruised since he'd just released it. "Why? " She was always more emotional with him than anybody, but they literally grew up together. "Don't do this, I helped make you and put you where you're at, why would you punish me for my wants and wills and needs? Why would you punish me for a girl that you're going to let die once you have what you want from her anyway?" -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
It was a testament to Velvet's own strength that she was able to move her arm after his had commanded her to remain still. Of course, that was one of the things that he approved of with her -- after all, he couldn't accept a woman who was truly his lesser as a true lover. Still, she was his to command, and any genuine feelings he felt for her were second to the iron fist he ruled the nest with. "I'm not punishing you for her, Velvet. What you do with your own toys, outside of the nest, is to your discretion. But you know the laws under this roof, of those held in my name, and it is because you broke that that you'll be punished." She'd tarnished his word, his honor (no matter how twisted that sense of honor was), and he could not abide it.
Using the knuckles of his first finger, he tilted her face up so that it was at a proper angle for him. "Hush, now, my love. It's because I care for you that I'm not simply taking them from you." Opening the box, he threaded a curved suturing needle with a thin, black velvet cord. He closed her eyes with his fingers, and with no hesitation or sign of remorse, he began to sew one of her eyelids shut. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
Surprisingly, the only thing that she did was make a few gasping sounds from the pain, surely she was used to more pain than this. And she wouldn't ever let the others hear her scream in pain due to her own lovers hands. She wasn't going to give anybody that satisfaction. Not only did the blood seep from her skin when he dipped in and out of her lids and lower skin to close those eyes, but blood tears as well. It was hard to tell a difference, though.
She would clench her jaw the entire time he did both eyes, and she'd just wait for it to be over with. She said nothing to him, the silent treatment didn't work anyway, but she wasn't going to be able to change his mind and she wasn't going to keep trying by begging. -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
He was methodical about it, seeing no reason to try and draw it out by sewing through her skin slowly on purpose. He made sure that they were neatly done, and that the puncture wounds were high enough in her eyelids so that they wouldn't tear through when she moved her eyes or tried to blink. Snipping off the end of the cord, he secured them with knots that wouldn't come undone without the aid of a knife or scissors. He replaced the instruments into sewing kit and placed it back on the floor. She'd hear him pick something else up off the floor, but it was only his hands that cupped her face. "That is finished," he crooned to her, using his lips and tongue to clean up the blood from her tears and the stitches in her eyes.
His fingers slid back through her long hair, lifting it off her neck in gentle strokes and caresses. He made sure that every strand was off her face and tucked behind her ears. "Even like this, you're beautiful. It's a pity to hide it from the world." Christian was speaking more to himself than to her, and his hands pulled away from her. A moment later, she'd feel a half-mask settle on the lower half of her face, covering her from her nose to curve under her chin and jaw. It was carved from ivory, with no holes to allow for air to get in. After all, they were dead, so they didn't need to breathe. Its main purpose was to not allow her to feed, or for anyone to slip any blood to her. Buckling it at the back of her head, he was careful not to catch any of her hair in it. The oiled leather pressed into her cheeks, and while she was still full from her recent feeding, they'd leave shadows of bruises with how tight the mask was. Those would fade as the blood blush faded, of course. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
When she felt his hands over her hair and skin she took in a breath, still to this day it was hard not to do despite not needing it, reaction to his touch really. When he mentioned her beauty and hiding it from the world she wanted to say something but chose not to, then she felt him putting that face guard on her and that's when more blood tears slipped away from her sewn eyes. Literally staining her cheeks as they fell, probably falling onto his hands as he adjusted things and she couldn't do much about it.
She did speak though, "Nobody would have known if you hadn't punished me for it" her voice muffled through the ivory mask, wishing she could tear through it with her teeth. Her anger was rising within her, he'd be able to feel it. -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
"I know what you did." It was stated as the simple fact that it was. Others knowing before he had found out would have made his anger worse, and possibly made him punish her more harshly. It was probably for the best for everyone that he had found out from the fairy and then gotten the details from Velvet directly, because it would have been a catch twenty-two for any other vampire that had known. It was equally dangerous for them to rat Velvet out to Christian as it would have been for them to withhold that information. This time when she cried, he did nothing to staunch or wipe away the blood, letting them run in rivulets down her cheeks to pool along the edge of the mask. He observed the blood as it finally pooled enough to spill over the ivory mask, leaving winding, sanguine trails over the bone. "So lovely." His hand smoothed over the top of her head. He knew she was angry with him, and logically he couldn't necessarily blame her for that anger. Ah, well. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
She could, use a lot of her power, which would leave her weak, to break that command he had on her, however, he'd just do it again when she was weaker, so she didn't even try to force it. The white ivory mask matched her white flowy dress. She looked so innocent in it, but that's what she liked about it.
Her vampire senses were strong, but with her eyes sewn shut it wasn't too much different than going blind, your other senses heightened, even as a vampire. Her ears picked up something in the hall, though the wooden doors to the living area were open, she let out a guttural growl from her throat and screamed through that mask, "IF YOU COME IN HERE I WILL COME FOR YOU LATER" . . .
Whoever had been about to come in was heard then turning and quickly making their way from the door and instead of using her powers to uncement herself, she used it to slam those thick wooden doors closed, loudly. She couldn't even turn her head really, she was going to pay Christian back for this, somehow. -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
He remained silent while she threatened the potential interloper to warn them off, leaning back in his chair. "You can move again," he murmured. "Only stay near me, for now. You aren't allowed to remove the mask, or to allow anyone else to do it for you. I'll remove it once it's time." She could feel the chains that bound her shift and realign to fit the new commands he'd made of her. He was curious if she was furious enough to try and attack him. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
She was more sad furious that he'd actually do this to her. She would never do this to him. When he said she could move she got one of those evil grins on her lips, but.. he couldn't see that, or the twinkle that would have accompanied it, so she need not worry, though he may be able to tell from her demeanor as she slowly stood. Cool, calm, . . no cold and calculated. She knew he was in his chair and she simply remained facing that way. She didn't move for a good long moment before she took one step towards that chair and stopped.
"What am I allowed to do?" She folded her hands in front of her, giving off her innocent demeanor, but behind that mask was anything but innocence, not on her lips, not in her mind. -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
Christian didn't buy the innocent act she was putting forward, and the fact that she was playing the part of the demure, obedient girl only had him more suspicious. "Mmn," it was a thoughtful sound made in the back of his throat, and he raised an eyebrow as he eyed her over. "Games, Velvet?" Of course, half the game was for him to decipher what angle she was working from. She was unpredictable, and he could see a few different avenues she might try to go down.
"How about you tell me what you want to do, and I'll tell you if it's allowable." His fingers rapped lightly on the armrest of his chair. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
"Well...." She moved to the chair, letting her fingers find his face to play fingertips over his jawline, slowly down his throat before she used that same hand to brace on his shoulder so she could sit, wrapping that arm around behind him, it would continue to play with his hair, ear, neck area... her body sitting sideways with legs going to drape over the side of his chair while her other hand moved to press against his chest, curling fingernails into his skin through his shirt, hard.
"I will tell you what I won't want to do for a very long time" at least she still had her eyebrow showing, which twitched upwards as she said those words to him. "And that makes me very sad" -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
His eyes followed her and he did nothing to stop her from touching him, or from sitting across his lap like that. Even when she used her long fingernails to cut into his skin, he let out a very quiet grunt of acknowledgement, but he accepted the pain of it. He could feel blood running down over his skin, but it was a mild annoyance. After all, once she removed her nails, the superficial wounds would heal themselves.
"Ah....," he had a wry smirk on his face, and his hand smoothed down her back. "Well, I can't blame you, beloved. You're rather vexed with me." That was an understatement, and he knew it, but alas... Besides, he didn't think she'd hold true to that for necessarily too long, and it was a fresh promise. It'd take some time for him to fully appreciate her withholding herself from him. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
He had no idea what he'd started. She would hold true to that promise as long as she could, because she just.. can. "I fucking hate you" She reached up to smack his face after releasing his chest from her nails grip. -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
He had a good idea, because this wasn't the first time he'd punished her for some transgression, and it wouldn't be the last. When she claimed hatred for him, he smiled, and she'd be able to hear the expression in his voice. "How many times is that, this year?" The way he made light of it was a mockery of her feelings, and he knew it would only increase her ire. Perhaps that was his intention, or he simply didn't care that she'd be angrier with him. It very well was likely a mixture of the two. Christian let her slap him the first time, his head barely moving to the side with the effort she put behind it. "Be careful, Velvet." [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
If he could only see her face right now, that's what made her most mad, he couldn't see how mad she was at him. She give him hurtful looks or anything! "Do you even love me anymore? " Then she paused and she removed her arm from him around, her brows adjusted to what would be a look of worry and hurt. "I always put who you are first before anybody and everybody here... " Her voice got chillingly quiet as she face to faced with him, even if she couldn't see him. "I should be first and foremost. Who is going to be there if something happens and we have to flee? All these assholes? No... Me... " She pointed at herself, pointing her own finger into her own chest.
She went to stand up as she spoke, " Guilting you won't make me feel better, but you should know.. I'm the only one that would truly be there for you no matter the circumstances and you hurt me like this. Fuck Politics" -d-
The Menagerie09/17/2018
The emotional diarrhea that was suddenly coming out of Velvet's mouth surprised him. He was used to the venom and the proclamations of hatred, her lashing out physically and verbally at him. This almost wounded creature in front of her was new, and made him slightly uncomfortable. Watching her get up, he followed suit after a moment and took her by that same, bruised wrist. "This is not a conversation for wandering ears." That was all he'd say, and he'd take her from the shared space of the living quarters to their personal rooms. [d]
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
The fact he was taking her to their private chambers, surprised her, she thought she'd be walking away with no reaction at all, so now she was worried of fear, one way or another, she wasn't sure if this would end up well. -d-

---------------------------------
Sunday Evening
.........................................................
When Eddie left his family's land, he took Matthias with him on a ride down to the outskirts of Downtown Rhy'Din. He'd made a phone call to his uncle while Matthias was still passed out.
In fact, by the time Matthias woke, he'd be opening his eyes to the sound of the group talking around him. He was still in the passenger seat of the camaro, Eddie at the drivers seat, but three others talking at his window.
The first, an older man with soft blue eyes. He had one palm on the roof of the car, leaning over the window and speaking angrily at Eddie. "We don't kill humans, Eddie. We get to where we need to go to find the girl and we turn this piece of shit into the authorities."
Behind him, a woman of mixed decent rolled her eyes and folded her arms, but it was hard to say whether it was in agreement with the older man or not.
On the other side of the man was a younger gentleman with dark hair and obviously spent much time in the gym.
"You think the law is gonna do anything with this guy? He'll make some plea or pay some bail and be out on the streets by morning. He kidnapped a little girl, Robert, God knows what else he's done."
Robert looked down at the man as he stirred. "...We tell the lawkeepers. We find the girl."
Eddie flopped his back against the seat of the car. "Take him to the lawkeepers and they're gonna have my ass for kidnapping and attempted murder, too."
Robert shook his head, "Ragabash, you're sloppy. We can take care of that." He reached in the window and put his hand over Matthias throat.. the wounds from Eddie's claws began to heal slowly as the the elder theurge whispered.
The woman finally spoke, "Whatever we do, we aren't getting anything accomplished sitting in front of the house. Lets go get the girl, we'll deal with the rest along the way."
RhyDin Rolodex09/17/2018
Eddie waved his hand around the car, "Whenever you folks are ready to join me..." As in. Stop standing around and get your asses in the car?
Marnie took one look at the guy and wrinkled her nose. "I'll drive my own car," she said and went to get the SUV parked a car length behind.
The gashes were healed, but Robert hadn't tried to heal the bruises or results of the beat down Matthias had taken earlier. "I have a way to get the information we need from him without causing him any further harm... and we can turn him in with no problems." Robert was one of the pack's elders, but he was also a skilled creator of fetishes and talens, the items that the garou use to channel and utilize the spirits to aid them in their work. He slid into the car, forcing Matthias to sit between he and Eddie as the quiet one climbed into the back seat.
By the time they stopped by the police station downtown, Matthias was already healed and the guys had gotten all of the information from them that they needed. Robert walked him to the front desk himself, a good Samaritan he was, he had a few friends on the force that greeted him when he walked in. He explained that Matthias had confessed to kidnapping the girl after fitting him with a necklace with the gift of truth and tying his hands behind his back, forcing Matthias to have to speak the truth until that necklace was removed.
Robert left him with the lawkeepers (you can determine whether or not he got the necklace off, etc) and made his way back to the car.
Eddie was visibly pissed. "You might as well have kicked his ass out of the car and let him run free."
Robert pat his shoulder. "If he doesn't receive justice through the lawkeepers, Gaia will make it right."
Eddie looked over at him.. brown eyes fueled with rage.. then he looked ahead, cracking his knuckles by simply squeezing the steering wheel. "I swear I was born into the wrong tribe."
They took off for the location with Marnie tailing them, ready to find the girl and bring her home.
------------
It would take some time for them to arrive, not only due to the drive but they needed to be prepared. Robert needed to make sure they were going to be safe. They stopped off at the shop ( #detori_taxidermy ) for more supplies and to perform the rites necessary.
Eventually, they'd pull up to the location. Four sets of eyes. Four sensitive werewolf noses. And one elder with a connection to the spirits in the umbra. They were very much aware that this was not an abandoned site...
"...Leeches.." Robert sneered. -d
THAT RANDO09/17/2018
Velvet had agreed, after their private conversation, to obey and stay out of the wing of the nest that wasn't their living quarters. Her eyes were still sewn shut and she was in the living area. She had on a simple white sweater and some shorts, yeah, it didn't make sense but it looked cute! She didn't know where Christian was, but she sensed something shift in the atmosphere almost. . .
"Christian" He wasn't in the living area with her so she stood, wishing right now of all times she could see. But that punishment remained, the sewn lids, for however long he deemed necessary. She left the living area to walk down the halls, following where he may be, but asking everybody she felt on her way if they'd seen him. The two others she did speak with didn't know, they had just come from their own chambers. -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
Velvet was far more in tune with the area around the compound than he was. Walking out of the room where they were keeping the fairy girl, he was removing a pair of leather gloves and folding them neatly into his pocket when one of their ghouls came to find him.
"Sir, Velvet is searching for you."
He released a patient sigh, his pace casual as he walked down the hall. "When isn't she. You may tell her that I'll see to her shortly."
"Sir....," her tone was hesitant, because his tone had implied that the matter was closed, but she felt compelled to try and insist on the mistress's behalf. "She's asked everyone she's come across for you. She seems... agitated by something, and she keeps... uh... looking," she winced at the irony of the word. "Towards the ceiling."
Christian patiently stared at the teenage girl, a small frown creasing his forehead the more he listened. It didn't sound like Velvet was displaying her typical clingy behavior, and if something was truly bothering her... Without a word to the ghoul, he strode down the hallways to the living area. Opening the wooden doors that led into the family gathering area, he watched how Velvet was feeling around as she searched. "Velvet?" [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
Hearing him finally she turned and swiftly moved for him, hands out she touched his chest before her hands slowly went up to touch his face before she looked upwards again, "Something is off..." She had picked this property and purchased it for the very reason this place had originally been abandoned. Nobody wanted to live out here.. nobody came out here. So she was very well aware of her nest and it's surrounding land.
Had anybody followed him, it didn't matter, even if the ghoul was outside the door she was in no mind to be bothered by eavesdroppers at the moment. "There's a shift in the atmosphere around the house" of course she meant the farm house. There was an exit for the vampires to leave through, but it really only emptied into the less than structured barn outside for emergencies. However, it was unwritten law to stand and fight, if you didn't, you could lose your position within the nest and the nest provided much more security for those than being above did. -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
He didn't stop her from touching him, treating her as if she were truly blind and needed to feel his face to decipher his expression. His frown was thoughtful, despite the fact that her words were causing a budding of concern within him. "Off? Be more specific, woman. Is it a storm we can weather by staying underground and quiet, or do we need to prepare for more extreme measures?"
His hand rose to cup under her elbow, using that as a guide for him to lead her towards their seats at the far end of the room. Urging her to sit, he hunkered down in front of her. His own gaze went towards the ceiling, but he didn't sense anything other than what was within the compound, and nothing was out of the ordinary. Other than the fae who was tied up, but by now she was an expected disturbance within the nest and wasn't given additional thought. "Focus. Tell me what you can." [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
She was used to his impatience with her, but sometimes it took more than a moment to figure out exactly what was needed. Though he helped her move towards their seats, she was focusing her energy on what may be happening above. She couldn't see what was happening per se but she could sense things and she had one of the best noses of any of her sire's children.
Taking in a slow, deep breath, as if she needed that human instinct to actually smell what was happening, she frowned, her brows creased together and wanted to literally claw the stitches from her eyes. The inhale merely helped get past the earthy smell from being below, as if dragging the scent of what was disturbing her atmosphere she had created around the nest.
"Garou." It was said in a low animalistic growl emitting from her throat. -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
A curse hissed out between his teeth under his breath, and he pulled away from Velvet. The box he'd used yesterday had been left on the floor beside his chair, so he flipped it open to find the small scissors that were tucked away inside. Regardless of whether he'd planned to cut the cord that kept Velvet's eyes shut today or not, the situation had changed. He saw absolutely no reason to continue to keep her blinded when all it would do would help seal her death warrant.
Hunkering down in front of her, he was wordless as he took a hold of her chin in a firm grip to keep her face still. The scissors slid into the stitches he'd made and he neatly cut each thread on both of her eyes, so she could open them. It would be up to her to pull the loose strands out of her eyelids, because he didn't have time for that. "We don't have the defenses to ward off garou. Can you tell how many of them there are?" [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
She was surprised when she heard him go for her box, she was unsure what he was going to do but when he took her chin and made her hold still, she didn't move, allowing him to do those cuts. Slowly blinking her eyes open she was having trouble focusing at first so she closed her eyes again as she lowered her head, picking the little strands out from her eyelids.
"It was hard to tell, it depends on their power, there's at five, no.. four but one is quite powerful..." She gingerly removing those laces with a small wince of annoyance, it didn't really feel good to unthread something from your eyes. "She curled her lip up and growled, eyes shooting over towards him. He he literally was a sight for her sore eyes. She was drinking what she'd missed in seeing him from earlier that morning and the night before.
"One of them has your car" She hissed out, "Matthias is nowhere with them. I'm not sure what they did with him" -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
He considered the implications that the garou had arrived in his own car. "What they did with him is of no consequence. What we do know is what he did for them." It was probably just as well the garou didn't bring Matthias back to the nest. He was calculating the likelihood of survival, and the odds were not stacked in their favor. The nest would be destroyed, that was a given, because he had already thrown their lot in to be fodder for the damn wolves. It was a minor annoyance, because even though he didn't have any personal attachment to the underling vampires, it would take time to rebuild a new nest. There was also the matter of the fairy girl: he had no illusions that the wolves' untimely arrival had to do with anything else, so keeping her was a non-starter.
"Will the ward you set keep them at bay at all, to give us extra time?" [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
"The only thing it will do is .... ouch fuck" She removed the last velvet thread and threw it aside, she wanted to rub her eyes but the moment her finger pad touched it she winced. "The only thing it will do, " She started over "Is stop them from finding the entrance as easily. But if Matthias told them where we were at, it's likely he told them how to find the entrance as well. The ward mostly works if the people aren't looking for us and already know where we are. I can cast a ward that may potentially confuse them, but I don't know how strong they are. . . " She stood and moved to him, kissing his lips before she brushed past and moved out the wooden doors. She was going to make her way for the bottom of the entry stairs to cast the ward. -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
"Try, then. Hopefully it will at least slow them down enough for an escape." He accepted the kiss, though he didn't return it with anything other than a squeeze to her arm. "Once you're finished casting, come back here. I'll have a plan set." [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
She did as he instructed. Once she reached where she needed to be her hands came out and aimed towards the door at the top of the stairs, her head was down and she was murmuring in Latin. With any luck, this would disorientate them from finding door in that farm house bathroom. It would almost make the bathroom seem as if it wasn't there, she didn't know how long that rouse would stay up though, so she'd cast for as long as she could, knowing that while she was doing it, it may work better. -d-
RhyDin Rolodex09/18/2018
They had crept up on the land, but knowing what Matthias had told them about the nest, they were sure their arrival wouldn’t be hidden for long.
Robert looked on from behind the steering wheel. “Combat the wyrm wherever it dwells,” He recited. It was met with a single nod from each of them as they filed out of the car and pulled their staves out from across the floor of the back seat.
Each of them had performed their rites before they departed from the shop. Protective runes covered their bodies and staves. They had even performed the rite to protect themselves against harm from silver or flames, it would help, but not block it completely. Once each of them had their staff they stepped away from the car, Robert at the lead. “No sense in taking our time. Destroy the wyrm tainted nest. Save the girl.”
A growl in unison rolled from their chests, followed by a sickening sound of popping and crunching beneath their skin as each of them shifted uncomfortably during the change. Groans and growls filling the air as six feet grew to nine.. average builds to massive.. fur sprouting from each of them as their clothes magically disappeared inside their skin. Giant, fur covered claws gripped their staves and raised into the air as all four Garou shifted to Crinos form.
Eddie
In this form, their senses were stronger. They could speak, but there was no point. The pack mentality took over. Follow the stench of death. Robert thought this, but he didn’t need to tell the younger garou. They were experienced enough. Clawed feet dug into the earth and propelled them toward the dwelling place, eyes and ears alert to their surroundings, ready to tear to shreds anyone who tried to stop them.-d
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
Turned out Velvet's ward didn't matter, they dug through the ground straight behind her, luckily for her the exit into the living quarters was right there and she had her speed, she wasn't sure where she was going to go, the first place she would check would be the living area they were just in, if anybody was in there she would warn them.
They came in through the roof! Her voice rung scared in his head. She wasn't sure what was going to happen next, she was hoping nobody followed her, she was hoping she had been quick enough they didn't even see her. Where are you ?
Stopping the hallway like a spy on the other side of the wall, she lifted her hand to produce some fire, as if spraying it from her fingertips like small hoses on the flooring on the other side of the living area quarters. So they could get into the 'sitting' area but not deeper into the chambers, at least not right away. Once there was a wall of flames she'd be trying to find Christian. -d
The Menagerie09/18/2018
The lesser vampires who were in the hallway the werewolves dug into didn't stand a chance. If they'd still been alive, their bowels would have turned to water and their hearts stopped; however, all they had was their fight or flight response, and the fledgling vampires chose the latter. Scattering like ants who's hill had been exposed to the light, they dispersed in different directions, most of them fleeing without any real goal other than to get the fuck away. Because what in the Hell even WERE THOSE THINGS?
Through the roof? Disbelief answered Velvet's fear, Christian wondering how the fuck they'd not only dug through earth, but through concrete and metal. What were these garou that could do such things? Their sire had not prepared them for this, only equipping them with the general lore against the wolves.
Some of the fledgling vampires slid to a halt when Velvet set the flooring ablaze, caught on the wrong side -- with the wolves. "Mistress!" A chorus of three or four voices cried. "Please, help us!" [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
She turned to look at them over her shoulder, that long dark hair brushing against her cheeks and in her cold, well mannered demeanor she usually showed them, spoke up, "If you are too weak to get past the fire with your own powers. You don't deserver to live" Her lashes blinked her eyes as she turned back around and headed away. For those few fledglings, watching her do and say this was near slow motion. They should have known the only person she would save would be Christian and herself.
The problem they may not have known, since they were young and didn't know her well enough yet, she left them on the other side for a purpose. A distraction, even if it was a mere seconds thing. It gave her a few more moments to find Christian. YES It was a yell, as if she was screaming in his face about it. Where are you He still hadn't answered that. -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
"Damn it, woman, will you stop your shrieking. You're giving me a headache with how shrill you're being." His voice was still cultured, peppered with what would be best described as mild annoyance. He had three other vampires behind him, all of them wide eyed and scared. The only reason they hadn't fled, yet, was because Christian seemed so calm. Was he? No, on the inside he was terrified, but the best way to be killed would be to running around like headless chickens.
"Mistress, please," one of the other vampires, trembling, threw himself at Velvet's feet. She'd just created a wall of fire, so obviously she was a good person to go to for protection, right? "Will you protect us from these beasts?"
Looking down, Christian had an expression of mild distaste as he reached down to take a fist full of the younger man's shirt. No more than a boy, really, perhaps seventeen and freshly Embraced for perhaps a year or a little over. "Your duty is to protect her, not the other way around, boy. I will assist you with your duty." Hauling the young man to his feet, Christian promptly turned him towards the wall of fire and pushed him through.
Screaming hideously, the vampire ran blindly as the flames greedily began to consume his undead flesh. The other vampires who had been clustering on the other side of the flames fled ahead of him, screams of fear renewed as well. They didn't want to get caught by the flames by accident, so they were running right into the jaws of a different kind of death.
Satisfied with the diversion the rest of the nest was causing, Christian took Velvet's wrist to pull her along with him towards the living quarters. You know the way out, he spoke silently, in case any wolves would be close enough to hear him. Go ahead of me. These will go with you. I need to make sure the wolves will not follow. [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
Hearing his voice in her ears instead of her head make her feel relief. She was just about to go to him when one of the vampires threw himself at her feet, she had glanced down with disgust and again was about to respond but as usual, Christian got to it first with his impatience. She sighed out of annoyance of the boy, but paid no mind really to Christian throwing him towards the flames and wolves.
"What.. no.. come with me " She hissed between teeth as he took her wrist and led her towards the living quarters. Hearing him again, but this time in her head she looked between the two whom he had chosen to give her to protect her, the two vampires moved stealthy towards her and would flank each of her sides so she had no choice of where she had to go.
She knew how dire him staying could turn out. Before the two, Ray and Wicker we'll call them, could take her away she grabbed hold of Christian's shirt with her long talon like nails, holding onto it she grasped it hard as her elbows flew out behind her hit the two sent with her in the chests to back them off of her. In such a hurry, weren't they.
She moved up against his chest as she released his shirt so her hands could cup his face and she kissed him, knowing he wouldn't sit and hold her like she wanted, she just.. released him and frowned. She wouldn't be allowed to stay and she could feel the order from last night lifting. A glance to the Ray and Wicker and she gave them a look before her hands each took one of their arms and tugged them to stand straight up, leading them to where Christian was telling her to go. They would have to leave the living area to go down the hallway to another room though, thankfully it was further down than where the wolves were. -d-
RhyDin Rolodex09/18/2018
Search every room. Robert directed the pack as they made contact with the first floor beneath their feet. Their staves strapped against their backs for now.
Fucking leeches scattered like cockroaches. Eddie’s thoughts as he could smell the fledgling vampires that took off in fear. The four split up only to check the rooms around them and only to be met by a wall of flames. Snarls and growls exchanged as they paced.
Go through it or wait? Marnie asked. She wasn’t sure if it was some sort of magically sustained fire. A simple flame could be run through.. something stronger could be deadly.
Robert lifted his nose to the air.. sniffing.. smelling beyond the fire and trying to determine where Cherry was. Find another way for now.
Lyle growled and smashed some of the furniture out of frustration before looking for another way through.
Robert stayed, summoning the spirits to help by putting out the flame. Should they choose to do so it would allow them passage. -d
The Menagerie09/18/2018
"I'll be behind you. Now go." He was annoyed that she was taking the time to not only argue, but to give him affectionate kisses that would be useless -- especially if they were both dead. Well... deader. Christian stepped away from her as soon as the kiss was finished, a frown on his face as he gestured for the other two to make sure she went where she needed to go. He could hear the wolves milling around on the other side of the fire, and unless Velvet put a little extra into the flames, he knew it wouldn't keep them out for long.
Pulling on the blood binding between him and whatever fledglings were left, he guided them to overcome their fear and try to attack the wolves. Did he expect it to do much good? No, but if he survived this, he wanted to see more of what these creatures were capable of. It had been prudent to leave Cherry where she was. They couldn't control her well enough if she wasn't completely bound, and she'd only be a target for the wolves to arrow towards if they tried to run off with the girl. He regretted not having killed the fairy. [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
Cherry had sensed something happening, she could hear the commotion and now she was starting to smell the fire. Somebody had redressed her, putting her in a white knee length night gown. Nobody was in that room with her, there were two vampires at her door outside but she had no idea if they were still there or not.
She started to struggle with her bindings, pulling hard enough on her hands and her legs, since her ankles were bound together then tied so she couldn't hurt anybody by using her legs. She didn't have anything over her mouth at least to stop her from screaming and as she yanked and pulled, bruising herself, she screamed for help.
"HELP ME!!! SOMEBODY FUCKING PLEASE!!!" Tears were falling from her eyes, the first time she'd really cried during this except when Matthias had visited her, that man scared her more than any of them. Her tears were definitely poison filled the more scared she got, the more potent it became. -d-
RhyDin Rolodex09/18/2018
The fire went out easily. The wolves separated. Marnie and Eddie went charging after the vampires while Robert and Lyle continued to search for Cherry. The cry for help was all that was needed. A yowl from Lyle came to call Robert near and let the other two know the fairy girl had been found.
As not to scare her, Lyle shifted back to homid form, and the 6’2, handsome man with dark hair and his clothing in tact walked into the room and began untying her, “We’re here to save you, don’t worry. Are you Cherry?” She fit the description but he wanted to be sure. When she was untied, he’d step back. “Don’t be afraid, okay? Im gonna change, then I want you to hop on my back and I’ll run us out of here.” He looked to Cherry making sure she was calm, regardless as to whether or not she believed him.
Ill look for others, get her out of here. Robert said as he moved down the halls to free any other captives.
Lyle dropped to all fours and shifted quickly into his hispo form, smaller than the war ready Crinos but larger the a regular wolf. He made a whining sound and nodded his nose toward his back, willing the girl to climb on and hold on tight.
Down the hall, weakling new vamps trying to protect their masters disrupted Marnie and Eddie as they pursued the stronger vampires of the camp, but they wouldn’t be ignored. Eddie slashed his claws against the throat of one, taking his head clean off. Marnie lunged the tip of her staff deep into the chest of another, lifting him on the air and kicking his body off of her weapon.
They eventually barreled through the door that lead to the room where Christian and Velvet had been hiding.- d
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
When somebody Cherry didn't know entered into the room she nearly freaked out. One, she was unsure if he was a vampire and what he would do to her, but when he spoke she relaxed some, she didn't fight him untying her. Once her arms and hands were unbound she sat up and rubbed at her bruised wrists, she had cuts and gashes all over her body, it was obvious she had been tortured to some degree.
"Yes" To his question on if she was Cherry. His instructions, however, about not being afraid and him changing had her confused, she didn't care, as long as they were getting her out of here! She nodded to him, "Okay"
Velvet and the other two had left the living quarters through another door within it to another hallway to head towards her chambers, when the heard the wolves growing closer they ran to the room and closed the door and instantly she went about moving above to open that secret exit, once through, she moved everything back into position since it was right there and covered the exit up so nobody would know where she may have gone had they seen them go into the chambers. From there the three of them would travel out. -d-
The Menagerie09/18/2018
He'd lied to Velvet, but that was nothing out of the ordinary. He knew that the wolves would hunt down the entire nest, and he didn't think they'd be stupid enough to believe a bunch of fledglings were ruling themselves and going undetected for so long. It was obvious that the nest had been roosted here for quite some time, with the amount of furnishings and how lived-in the living quarters were. There wasn't any way that the two of them would survive, and for reasons that he wouldn't share with anyone -- living or dead -- he'd chosen to stay behind and send Velvet to safety.
Using a knife, he methodically cut open his arm, listening to the two wolves ravage their way to where the family hub -- and he -- laid in wait. By the time he finished, it was a mutilated mess and could be barely called an arm from the elbow down, but that suited his needs perfectly. As the door splintered under the weight and strength of the two wolves, Christian was silent as shadow as he lunged forward, his fingers curling into the thick ruff of fur around the closest wolf. Pulling his lips back from his teeth, he exposed his fangs (which he was fully aware were much, much smaller than the wolf's) and released a sibilant, hostile hiss. It was all for show, because he was banking on the natural reaction of the wolf to snarl back in equal hostility and hatred.
Using his mutilated arm, he literally shoved it down the wolf's throat, making a conscious effort to tear himself more over those large, sharp teeth. Pumping as much of his blood down into the wolf's gullet, he was banking on another thing being true that their sire had told them: the toxicity of a vampire's vitae to the Fera. Christian didn't know if it would be enough to kill the damn thing, but he was hoping that it would be bad enough that they'd accept the death of an older vampire and not go searching for another. There was no fear in him as he did this, just a resigned acceptance. Christian didn't believe that there would be any afterlife for him, and that he'd be simply gone once the wolves killed him tonight. Ah, well.
RUN. He thundered the order at Velvet, just in case she wasn't moving fast enough and away from the compound. [d]
RhyDin Rolodex09/18/2018
Lyle waited for Cherry to have a firm grip on his fur before taking off. He ran out into the hall, hopped and climbed out through the rubble that had collapsed when they had come in, running her out toward the camaro that was abandoned. He’d wait there with her unless he saw reason to keep running.
Christian has done well surprising them like that at least, and he was right in that Eddie would respond with not just a snarl but a full on roar, saliva dripping from his fangs until Christian shoved his arm into his mouth.
Still blinded by rage, Eddie bit down hard and shook him.
Marnie caught the scent of another and was about to give chase until she saw what was going on. No! The female garou reached for his legs with the intent of ripping the vampire in two as Eddie grasped his upper half. -d
The Menagerie09/18/2018
Christian was laughing as he was shook like a rag doll, which only caused more of his blood to fill the wolf's mouth and run down his throat. Would it be any surprise to find that he was deranged? Probably not, to anyone who knew him. Letting go of Eddie's ruff, he bit into his own hand and tore the palm, so he could slap it over Eddie's nose and grip. Maybe the damn dog would inhale some blood, too... bet that would sting, wouldn't it?
He was losing blood at an alarming rate, and his skin was already cold to the touch and his movement more sluggish. Feeling the female wolf grab his legs, he turned his head and snarled at her. The expression rapidly became a smile and, opening his mouth, he snaked his tongue out to lick the tip of it over his eyebrow. "Do I afraid you?" Mocked with a drunken slurr, moments before he was ripped in half by the two wolves.
Since both wolves had such a good grip on him, when he exploded into a Stripper Cloud, they both got covered in glitter. Because he was obviously too fabulous to go without a bang, right? [d]
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
Cherry had held on, tightly and once they were outside she wasn't going to let him go, so he was going to have to deal with a clingy teenage girl.
Velvet on the other hand, had listened to Christian when he said run, plus all the other things she was feeling from him, which broke her heart. Once they reached the end of that tunnel she slipped through a portal to find their way somewhere random, it was a random generator portal so that they couldn't be followed. -d-
RhyDin Rolodex09/18/2018
WHAT THE FUCK?! GLITTER?! Both wolves were taken by surprise as the leech suddenly glitter bombed them, dropping what was left of him from their teeth and backing up with the giant equivalent of when a dog eats a big glob of peanut butter. Glitter. Ptew. Bleh. Ick! On top of the rancid disgusting taste of the blood that Eddie was too raged out to pay attention to just yet.
Robert entered to find them both shaking glitter out everywhere. What the hell?! The two younger garou whined.
Robert and Marnie took off after Velvet only to stop where the portal had been.. then circle back.
By the time they got back, Eddie had shifted back to Homid form, crumbled on the floor and vomiting.
They carried him up and out of the hiding place, into the car with Cherry and Lyle. The wolves had all shifted back to human form, Marnie, Eddie, and Cherry in the back seat, Lyle and a Robert in the front as they went back to #noble_land -d
THAT RANDO09/18/2018
She didn’t know Marnie and while she had barely met Eddie, she knew who he was and why he was there. Bri. Literally her only friend, Cherry was crying off and on but she curled against Eddie on the ride. She wondered if they would make her go back to her parents house right away. The thought tormented her but she closed her eyes and just held tight to one of the people that came for her, since Lyle was in the front seat Eddie would have to be her pillow and comfort -d
