The vampires origin is nearly as old as Mans. The tale dates back to the time of Cane. When he slew his brother Able he was banished to wonder the lands for eternity. As punishment he was branded with a mark. And given a lust for blood. Told that though he could lay with woman, he could not beget children by normal means. His children would spring from blood loss and death.
The vampire of today's era is a cunning foe. Strong, smart, and capable of great feats compared to humans. Most Canaanites, those of the pure blood descent, look down upon humans (and even their own progeny the Kyne) as impure races.
Though their alignment runs the gambit between good and evil. There need for blood has always been what struck fear in human hearts. They spent most of their eternity in hiding. Only till the hell gates where opened where they able to freely walk among the humans. For now, the humans needed them. Some are corrupt with power while others take pity on the weaker race and attempt to help them. Foolish perhaps in the belief that once this crises has passed the humans would be more accepting of them.
Note to the hunters, when hunting this foe, do not arm yourself with old wives tales. Your liable to get laughed at, right before they rip your throat out.
